This is the AIM group (Artists in Motion Gallery). This photo is a collage of photos from the tribal celebration party given by Ginny, one of our members. It was soon after this that we found out our coop gallery (AIM) had been accepted into the Lorton Workhouse, a 55 acre prison facility being converted into an arts center in Fairfax County. They will have music, dance, theater, ceramics, glass, photography, classes, performances, and of course, individual and shared painting studio/galleries. This is how cool it is: Baryshnikov danced at their fund raiser about three weeks ago and is now affiliated in some way with the center. He is also going to dance at the grand opening next September. (Hopefully there will be ways to see the performance without paying the $2500 price of a ticket.) It goes without saying that we are all very excited about this fabulous opportunity. In addition to the coop, I have been juried in for a studio membership and so has my fellow AIMer Susie, so we have decided to share a studio so we can also share the gallery sitting responsibilities. We have a great studio and are delirious with excitement about all the planning and preparations.
