I drew about half the drawings and then jumped into painting. I am changing (hopefully improving) the original designs and doing this as I go along, so I don't really want to do too much of the drawing up front. The down side of that is that I have artist friends who drop by to help (bless them) so I need to have stuff drawn for them to be able to help with the painting. I need to get all the base painting in so I can start on the texture, the details, the fun part. I am really in a hurry now, to do the first part of the painting so I have plenty of time to do the finish work. (I say that yet I sit here at 1PM typing in my blog, in my pajamas!) I will hopefully stay later tonight, despite the fact that it is a big empty rather dark and scary building that is in a questionable neighborhood and occasionally I have had to walk by groups of (shady, interesting, crack dealing, what is the descriptive term here, or maybe they are just waiting for a bus?) characters to get in the building. Of course I have my trusty supervisor Shel to guard the place. Oh and if only they could get the AC working life would be perfect.
The third photo below is my artist friend Susie Sikorski who came in to help and is painting on the W&OD piece. She paints SO fast she quickly ran out of things to do since I didn't have all the drawing done.

The books turned out great. I still love the frogs the best.
